Raden Saleh in Honor of a Famous Blue Mosque.
During his stay in Dresden, Raden Saleh found the painting style that later developed in Horace Vernet in Paris. He studied animal life in the stables and at the zoo and museums war equipment in the kingdom, where he spent much time there. He loved the landscape around Dresden, like the unique formations of sandstone on the river Elbe Valley. But the real reason this Javanese painter stay long in Saxony due to the friends and teachers who give so much influence on family life, especially the influence of Serre.
This feeling was evident in a message written in family Bible before leaving Maxen: “This is a memento to Major Serre and his wife, whom I love and cherish as they like my second parents.” Raden Saleh is believed to have left a lot of portraits and landscape paintings in the House of Serre’s family summer residence, but then lost after World War II, or kept as private collections.
In 1844, Raden Saleh finally gave in to the Dutch Government’s decision and left the Dresden, although he did not immediately set off to Paris, and spent a year in Coburg. Even before going to Paris, he returned several times to Dresden and Maxen to meet his friends. Last visit was in 1848 when Major Serre build Raden Saleh in honor of a famous Blue Mosque.
Raden Saleh’s legacy remains alive in Germany
Raden Saleh Sharif Bustaman, the grandfather of modern Indonesian painting, was the first Javanese who had studied in Europe in the 19th century. Every city in Indonesia have a street that is named as the name suggests, every Indonesian knows his name, though often merely in name only. He is more known for his ever sent to the Netherlands to study painting with European style.
But who knew that actually Raden Saleh spent much time in Germany and in France, four years between the time he lived in Dresden and its surroundings. Only a few of the Indonesian people who never travel to the small town Maxen, an hour’s drive from Dresden, where the local museum’s first exhibition ever held in memory of those times where Raden Saleh lived in the area of Saxony. Many German tourists who had never heard that a Javanese painter had lived in Germany from 1839 until 1845. “Raden Saleh should be given respect and a greater appreciation by organizing exhibitions exhibitions at major museums in Dresden, Dusseldorf or Berlin, but yet nobody seems interested to arrange it,” said Jutta Tronicke, which makes the concept of exhibition ever held until October 2004.
For a Java nowadays, Maxen (with a population of 600 people) can look very small. This village, located on the outskirts of the Swiss Saxony, almost untouched by the changing times. In the 14th century is known that this land is owned by a knight. At the time of Raden Saleh arrived in Dresden due to escape from the Dutch colonial officials, the land is owned by Major Friedrich Anton Serre and his wife Friederika.
Luckily with a passionate spirit of the Family Serre (Serre’s family has a very large castle near Dresden.. Mrs. Serre is a patron of art at the time), Maxen a meeting location for an international artist who frequently visited the club in Dresden, including the creator song Robert Schumann and Franz Liszt, poet Ludwig Tieck and the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. But the most exotic member is most likely painter from Java.

During The Fairs and Exhibitions
* Be on time at the opening of the booth. Every morning. Delaying the opening of the stand means, apart from a deserved penalty incurred by the organization, losing potential customers, in addition to an image unreliable.
* Attitude impeccable. Attentive to all. This is the watchword. Make groups in Booth to talk or get to read, is counterproductive and discourages visitors.
* Establish strategies. We must call attention. If we have a booth, we need to know to use it. A good technique is to capture relevant public fanfare to announce our latest products is also interesting scheduling product demonstrations at specific times.
* Empathize with your visitors: we are people who work for people, we tell the difference!
* Avoid crowded places. Over twenty minutes in front of the booth, bored anyone. We must strive to be diligent and “get to the point” to prevent customers bypassing potentially important.
* Select Visitors. Be a little selective and distinguish between the visitor interested and barely accumulating interest brochures. This saves costs and time.
* Organize: schedules and shifts of food, logistics service, etc.
* Avoid common mistakes in a stand: Open late, “assault” to visitors, help in times of fatigue, being too aggressive, form groups, sit, read at the booth, show a hurry before the visitor, shared documents without discretion, close hours before (especially the last day) …
* Try: Use extreme courtesy, show enthusiasm, be familiar with the product, customer interest, look into his eyes, smile …
